Research Development & Training

At SNI R&D and Training department of contains a team of experts, full time and part-time academicians. The team has been doing research and development work for the Engineering, GIS and CAD-based solutions related to Water Supply Management, Urban Management, Environment Management, Transportation Management, Mapping Control & Monitoring System.

Research is an integral part of SNI activities. To keep up-to-date and to make project-related assessments it is essential to update skills and develop new tools. To perform its activities adequately the capacities of the professionals at SNI are enhanced with the help of research outputs and training.

This Division organises the training offered by SNI to professionals of different government and non-governmental agencies in the field of water resources, environment, GIS and RS. The Division also provides a scope for the internship to encourage both national and international students of graduate and post-graduate levels.

SNI conducts innovative research in fields of natural resources management, socio-economic pressures on livelihoods, disaster management, community-based early warning of a flood, climate change etc. Conducts topographic survey using Total Station and DGPS. Support other divisions with better solutions Training on GIS, remote sensing, IWRM and S/EIA to professionals both at home and abroad.
